About me and my company "faktor i"
Standards-based Web Authoring
I am what you may call a "standards freak". I won't get dogmatic, but I try to cling to W3C's standards as close as possible. If impossible, I don't hesitate to ignore them, but "you have to know the rules before you break them". To make it short: Websites by faglork will be conforming to standards as far as possible.
Robust Pages by XHTML
I use XHTML not because it is the latest fad, but because - compared to HTML - it has a more rigid syntax which enables me - by using standard validators - to write error-free pages. Again, if the situation occurs, I may introduce code which won't validate. In any case, I know about any trade-offs which might come along.
The Economic Solution: CSS
I style my pages with the help of Cascading Style Sheets. No direct formatting, almost no inline styles. This way, it is possible to apply a complete re-design in mere seconds - just by uploading one tiny file. Talk about economics ...
Accessibility
Last not least: I keep an eye on accessibility according to WAI, Section 508 and the German "BITV". Needless to say that the resulting code is perfectly suited to get spidered by any search engine spiders.
Website Translations
I can do a complete translation of your existing website into German language. I have studied American Literature (don't nail me on this one, that was long ago ...) so I think I can translate almost any text. Well, there have been medical science texts which *were* a challenge ... . I can also check your already translated sites for errors - if they haven't been translated by a native speaker, they might contain some "questionable" passages.
faktor i
I am doing this for more than 10 years now. I have witnessed the birth of the WWW and I have seen quite a bit. I think I can say that I have a bit of experience in that field.
'nuff said.
